Over New Year's Eve 2022/23 in Meran

Travelogue
Some time ago I downloaded the Lauschtour app and lo and behold, there is a tour of Memmingen. The tour lasts about 1 hour and covers 2 km. We learn a lot of great things about Memmingen and are very impressed by the interesting city tour.

The site is about 200m from the Meran 2000 valley station. It is a terraced parking space with a great view of the valley. Unfortunately it is in the shade during the winter months. The equipment is neat and the cleanliness leaves nothing to be desired. The price is okay at €44 plus €4 for the dog. The condition of the pitches, all of which have grass and loose gravel, was annoying. Since it was very damp, the tire tracks left deep ruts. Despite the efforts of the very friendly court staff, little changed in the condition.
The hotel, which is located directly on the square, also offers a bread delivery service and meals in the restaurant. From our point of view, the latter can be neglected, at least as far as the pizza is concerned.
Great hikes can be made in the vicinity of the site, including along the Waalwege (channel-guided irrigation system for the apple and wine plantations). It takes about 40 minutes to walk to the center of Meran. But there is a good bus network. A bus stop is directly at the campsite.
Conclusion: the campsite offers a pleasant stay, but with a few downsides. With the possible activities in the area you will be compensated for this. The view from the Womo into the valley is gigantic.

In the end, we decided to continue driving our Laika due to the current pricing policy. It's just crazy to pay a 25% premium compared to prices from 2 years ago.
