The mountainous landscape surrounding Marienberg invites you to explore at any time of year. Hiking and biking trails lead through forests, valleys, and meadows to the Erzgebirge Ridge Trail and into Bohemia. Far from the hustle and bustle, you can enjoy magnificent panoramic views and discover impressive natural features, such as the "basalt fan" on the Hirtstein in Satzung or the imposing rock formations near Pobershau. The wildly romantic "Schwarzwassertal" nature reserve stretches along the "Schwarze Pockau" river from Pobershau to Kühnhaide and is considered one of the most beautiful river valleys in the Ore Mountains.
