Route description for Short trip to Lake Maggiore
The holiday of Ascension Day is ideal for turning a long weekend into a short vacation.

On Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. our trip started in the direction of Lago Maggiore with a direct stopover in Sisikon to Camping Bucheli (recommended by a friend). Unfortunately, since we were only able to start so late, we didn't want to search at night and booked in advance and treated ourselves to a night on the beautiful Lake Lucerne. Admittedly, not cheap for just a stopover, but a great location and everything you need is there, including "Seewägele"

Camping Lido Cannero
On Thursday morning, after breakfast and a short walk, we set off for our actual destination: Cannero Riviera on Lake Maggiore
Unfortunately, we reached the Gotthard too late and were stuck in traffic for more than 1 hour and only arrived at our booked campsite after lunchtime.
what shall we say Simply WOW
The place is in a great location, everything you need is there, the plots are great and you are right on the lake. The sanitary rooms still leave something to be desired, but will probably be completely renovated in November 2023.
After we (the first time) also set up outside and inaugurated our camping chairs, we strolled a little round through Cannero's alleys and along the promenade, really great! Everything is lovingly planted and cared for, direct access to the lake is possible several times, nice restaurants along the promenade... Simply beautiful
We ended the evening at the WoMo

Unfortunately, as announced, we woke up to rain in the morning and decided to spend the day in Cannero.
First we went to the weekly market, which you can't really call a market: Italian flair but only about 8 stalls and very expensive, and then we explored the rest of the great little town, once along the promenade behind the Porto Vecchio upwards in the direction of Carmine Superiore (unfortunately we couldn't make the path because our dog isn't that good on his feet anymore) and on the other side via the market square to the Parcho degli Agrumi (unfortunately you can't see any XXL fruits yet). Until then, the weather gods were on our side and we got through with drizzle.
After a coffee break at the lake we went back to the campsite where we spent the day because the rain got heavier and heavier.

Cannobio
We took the ferry to Cannobio at 9.10 a.m. (unfortunately also today in rainy weather). Despite the cloudy weather, the view of the harbor promenade is really great. We criss-crossed the city until mid-afternoon. Sweet alleys and a beautiful promenade, definitely even better in the sunshine ;)
At 3.30 p.m. we took the ferry back and ended the rainy evening in the camper.

On our last day we wanted to go to Cannobio again to the weekly market but what can I say? We were lazy and would rather spend a chilled day at the campsite and in Cannero, because the weather should be good today and tomorrow morning we're heading back to Germany...
