Schloss Porcia - Kaffee & Kuchen
Gabriel of Salamanca began building the castle in 1533, and the Renaissance building was completed in 1597 according to plans by Italian master builders. The three-storey arcades and the rich stucco and relief decoration of the castle earned it the title of "most beautiful Renaissance building north of the Alps" from art historians.
In 1662 the princes of Porcia acquired the county and administered it until 1918. In the 18th century numerous Baroque details were added, such as the Porcia family coat of arms in the courtyard.
The castle has been owned by the municipality of Spittal since 1951, which made the building accessible to the public and established it as the cultural center of the city.
Since 1958, the two top floors have housed the Museum of Folk Culture, since 1959 the "Comedy Games" have been held in the castle courtyard every year, since 1964 the "International Choir Competition" - cultural events that have made Spittal famous far beyond the borders of Carinthia.

Karlbad
The atmosphere in
Karlbad in Radenthein on the Nockalmstrasse is more rustic. At 500 years old, the farmer's pool is by far the oldest wellness facility in the Eastern Alps. Before the guests can sit down in the elongated larch wood troughs, lifeguard Georg Aschbacher has to make some preparations. Mineral stones are heated and only after two hours are placed in the tubs filled with cold spring water containing radon, which means that the bathing water is heated to 40 degrees.

Nockymountain
The 35 km long Nockalmstrasse between Innerkrems in the north and Ebene Reichenau in the south is undoubtedly one of the most varied and beautiful alpine roads that you can experience by car, motorbike and bus.
With a gentle incline, the panoramic road meanders up and down in 52 hairpin bends and numerous curves between the "Nock'n". There are always new views, for example of the largest pine forest in the Eastern Alps, of the round, green peaks of the Nockberge and the extensive alpine pastures.
The Nockberge Biosphere Park
The Nockberge have the largest population of spruce, stone pine and larch in the Eastern Alps. The uniqueness of the Nockberge in the Alps inspires hikers, bikers and drivers alike and leaves a lasting impression on everyone. Animals also feel at home in the untouched nature of this landscape. For example, you can observe marmots and even endangered bird species that have found a protected home here. Numerous gastronomic establishments along the road provide for the physical well-being.

Das Metnitztal
The Metnitztal is known for the fact that customs are still actively lived. The Metnitz Dance of Death is known far beyond the borders. This folk drama with choir accompaniment is only performed by amateur actors every three years. It deals with the equality of all human beings before death. This particular custom includes a cycle of frescoes, a ossuary with a copy of the fresco, and a ship of the dead.
"Come to my dance, all of you who have already given your life in God's hands to a happy end!"

Burg Hochosterwitz - Eine Zeitreise ins Mittelalter
In the Middle Ages, Hochosterwitz Castle served as protection for the population. The ingenious architecture made the castle impregnable. Opponents had to conquer goal after goal, which made them vulnerable. The residents were self-sufficient. There was a carpenter's workshop, a carpenter's shop, a mill, a blacksmith's shop, a bakery, book printing, as well as wine, vegetable and fruit growing. Medieval craftsmanship is still cultivated in the castle today.

Stift St. Paul - Schatzhaus Kärntens
The former representative rooms of the abbey now serve as the area of the abbey museum, which is one of the most valuable private collections in Austria. Outstanding art treasures of European quality are on display in the museum halls, some of which have valuable wooden ceilings from the 17th century.
Library and Archive
The entire stock of books of the St. Paul Abbey is spread over several library rooms in historic vaults. Around 70,000 books are housed in the display library alone. Around 4,000 manuscripts from the 5th century make St. Paul the most important book collection in Austria after the National Library.
